50 Books FREE Challenge

For this I am planning to take on the infamous ‘fifty a year’ challenge, in which the aim is to read fifty books in one year. After I’ve read each of the books, I’ll  rate it and give a little review on how I found it.

However, as a little twist I am going to complete this challenge FOR FREE, attempting to find and review good quality books without spending a single penny. Partly to make it a bit more difficult, partly because I haven’t got a penny to spend…

Rules: I can only read;

  1. Books that I already own but have not read
  2. Books from the library (a tougher task than it seems!)
  3. Free books available to download on the Kindle
  4. Books that friends lend me, although I can’t ask for specific books and need to trust their judgement

If you know of any books that I can acquire for free and you would like to see me read, please feel free to leave me a message!

I was inspired to do this challenge after reading Clare Diston’s (aka gildius) blog. Her break down of Fifty Shades of Grey is a brilliant read and you can find it here http://www.50ayear.com/the-fifty-shades-saga/

  1. ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ by Neil Gaiman
  2. The Liar’ by Stephen Fry
  3. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl’ by Harriet Ann Jacobs
  4. ‘Mirror, Mirror’ by Gregory Maguire
  5. ‘Dead Famous’ by Ben Elton
  6. ‘Oh Dear Silvia’ by Dawn French
  7. The Shunned House’ by H. P. Lovecraft
